No way. this is NOT real indian cuisine.

I challenge you. Go to Maharaja Palace on Tustin in Orange. Its about a 1/2 mile past chapman on the right. Go for the lunch buffet. its cheap and you can try a lot of their food. The owner is so nice too. Get the Garlic Naan.

I challenge you to go there and tell me I am wrong. I BET you will pull the Niki's lisitng on this page after you eat there.

Its like eating Mc Donald's burgers all your life then trying an IN-&-Out burger

I've been to a zillion Indian restaurants so sorry, if you don't like Niki's I guess I don't care what authentic is.  In both O.C. and L.A. there are only two places I liked.  One was in Laguna Beach, it was a restaurant, not fast food, but it changed owners and recipes and started sucking.  When I lived in LA I tried a bunch more they all sucked.  Niki's may not be the best and I'll certainly try the one you recommend but Niki's is better than every other place I've tried except that one in Laguna.  (unless of course they've changed owners as well.  I haven't been for 2 years)

Note: that doesn't count all the Indian places in Tokyo that rock!

Niki's is really good. [ e ]

i am from Germany and i have a taste for Indian food but when i came to America, i saw that the Indian food in L.A. is so expensive and i had to spend more than 10$ on myself which is too much to ask for. but then my friend took me to Niki's and i could eat so much for cheap and plus the food was good too =o).

a DELAYED comment that still matters if you like to eat! [ e ]

First of all, I am half-Indian and grew up in Cerritos which is basically home of "Little India" where the real Indians eat food, buy beautiful exports from the old country and grocery shop.  Point being I KNOW real Indian food.

So my point is Niki's is yummy.  Thought it is absolutely "westernized" Indian food, that to me is refreshing.  The presentation is refreshing.  The choice of entrees' is refreshing.  It's westernized in a way that could easily franchise all over America if people werent so ignorant to think that Indian food is for terrorists.  (Indians are predominantly hindu dummies.  they are pacifists)  ok , i'm ranting and off topic.  sorry. 

Also they have a PHENOMENAL collection of vintage collectibles with Indian theme, like aladdin stuff and magic carpet stuff.  I would die to have that collection at home.  It rules.

Niki's is delicious food.  It's not authentic, home cooked in India but it is notable in it's taste and presentation and stands out in it's own way 100%.

I too like Niki's. I've only tried the spicy chicken Tika, but love the spicy flavor. There's a Niki's at 1st Street and Golden Circle in Santa Ana. It's been there over 10 years.  An added bonus is that you get to exprience the meal again if you go to the gym and work out drinking lots of water...yes burps.  Feel sorry for those around me!

Nikki's closed some time ago. I think there's a Chipotle there now.

Does anyone know if Nikki's has moved or closed down? Where did they go?

Does anyone know the cooks that used to work on the Nikki's on Bristol? Where do they work now?
