DSL Problems [ e ]

Well all is not perfect in DSL land.

For whatever reason ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) is not working 100%. The *special* DSL software I had to install to use DSL claims it's compatible and even has instructions on how to set it up. Maybe I should try a fresh install of Win2K?

Basically everything works fine from that machine but from the other machines on my network I can't send e-mail (I can receive it), I can't upload via FTP but I can download and some sites I can't connect to. For example www.sony.com.

So, for now I have to connect it directly to my notebook. (the only machine I use) Problem is I'm running IIS on my notebook to work on my website and test it locally. That means that my ports are open. This wouldn't be the case if I can get it working the otherway.

I suspect that Tokyo Metallic, my ISP, won't know what the problem is. The software is made in America and they have a support website but no mention there of the problem.

It's one of those mysterious things that makes no sense. If I can read a webpage then I'm able to send data TO and FROM my computer (FROM: requesting the page, TO: getting the page) Given that everything else is based on that ability (put and get) it makes no sense to me that it would work in some places but not others but then nobody ever said software was supposed to make sense.
